Compensation : $57 / hour

Schedule : Full-Time | 2025–2026 School Year

Setting : K–12 School Environment

What You’ll Do

As a Special Education Teacher , you’ll play a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction and compassionate guidance.

Your daily responsibilities include :

Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs.

Designing engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards while fostering inclusion and independence.

Creating a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment that supports student growth.

Collaborating with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to ensure effective instruction and accommodations.

Monitoring and assessing student progress; preparing regular progress reports and data documentation.

Maintaining open communication with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student performance.

Participating in staff meetings, professional learning sessions, and school committees as needed.

Supporting students during transitions between settings (e.g., mainstream inclusion, specialized programs).

Upholding all school policies and contributing to a culture of respect and high expectations.

What You Bring

Valid New Jersey Certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) or Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field

Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to inspire, motivate, and support students with diverse needs

Must pass a criminal history background check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency
