Sr. Application Engineer
Job Description
This person will be the primary Application Engineer providing coverage for industrial and commercial clients in the Idaho and surrounding region.
This position requires extensive travel to customers both locally and out of state, with Boise as the hub. A valid drivers license and a good driving record are required, with up to 75% overnight travel initially, tapering down to 30-40% after training.
The candidate must be able to obtain necessary clearance and / or credentials as required, such as Homeland Security clearance, background checks, etc. U.S. Citizenship is required.
What will you do?
- Interact with customers, contractors, and end-users, working well in a team environment
- Provide software installation, upgrade, and start-up services for Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), including troubleshooting and customer training
- Consult with customers to determine system requirements
- Specify and purchase hardware / software as needed
- Configure and commission Schneider Electric and third-party hardware
- Document the as-built system

Experience with electrical equipment like switchgear, generators, UPSKnowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, IEC 61850, BACnetKnowledge of computer networking and hardwareProgramming skills (VBasic, C / C++, Java), SQL, HTMLHMI configuration experienceExperience with Schneider Electric software such as Power Monitoring Expert, Power SCADA, WonderwareNotes
