Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Summary

Refers, directs, or assists Team Members as needed in one or more Human Resources areas such as Team Member relations, benefits, compensation, training and employment. This individual will travel between HR Offices and properties within business hours at each location.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains confidentiality at alltimes.
  • Ensures compliance with HR policies andprocedures.
  • Operates between main HR office and each casinoproperty.
  • Acts as liaison between Team Members, supervisors, managers, and Human Resources Department at all properties.
  • Works with the HR Business Partner’s customer groups to learn their business operations.
  • Primary responsibilities are within Team Member Relations, but may be called upon to assist in all areas of the Human Resources department.
  • Helps to maintain HRIS database by ensuring performance management documentation (disciplinary actions, coaching logs, termination details, position changes, etc) are logged and approved
  • Provides education, assistance, and support on all Team Member administrative policies and HR processes.
  • Assists Team Members with benefits and 401(k) basic questions and partners with benefits team regarding more complex situations
  • Assists Team Members in using Employee Assistance Program.
  • Assists in the distribution of educational information relating toHR and participates in training efforts regarding New Hire Orientation and policy updates.
  • Participates and supports in Team Member events; recognition and awardfunctions.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring efforts asneeded.
  • Assists with offering WellPath Program to Team Members, supporting WellPath Events, Health Fairs and OpenEnrollment.
  • Provides guidance to Team Members, supervisors, and managers in the resolution of workplaceissues.
  • Compiles all data for Team Member relations matters (disciplinary matters, investigations, exit interviews, Team Member recognition, and monthly ERreports).
  • Responds to all Team Member issues reported from the departments and/or walk-ins toHR.
  • Conducts investigations and writes a summary of the information for review by thedepartment.
  • Conducts and arranges all appealhearings.
  • Reviews all drug testing results, tracks results, and meets withTeam Members.
  • Processes all unemployment claims and attends all telephonichearings.
  • Audits Team Member attendance records and points tracking and partners with operational leaders to ensure accurate information
  • Acts as a peer mentor to supervisors and managers on coaching, discipline and Team Member Relations

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college education strongly preferred; 2 to 4 years recent work experience in Human Resources, Team Member Relations, or departmental leadership required and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, human resources, leadership experience. Professional certifications such as NNAHRA’s THRP; SHRM’s CP/SCP; HRCI’s PHR/SPHR; IFEBP’s CEBS/GBA preferred; Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent PC skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams applications.

Other Qualifications

Must have excellent communication skills (verbally and in writing) and active listening skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with Team Members and leaders, demonstrating empathetic leadership competencies.

Must have knowledge of all regulatory requirements (WC, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, Employment Laws and ERISA). Must be able to work a flexible schedule when requested and be able to establish priorities in a quickly changing environment. Must be able to work harmoniously with co-workers.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bi-lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
