Position Overview

The Sandwich Maker is responsible for preparing and assembling sandwiches and deli items to Schneider Deli standards during high-volume service. This role requires speed, precision, cleanliness, and pride in craftsmanship. Ideal candidates are comfortable working on the line, communicating clearly, and maintaining quality under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sandwiches accurately and efficiently to spec

Slice, portion, and handle meats and cheeses properly

Maintain speed and consistency during peak service periods

Communicate clearly with cashiers, expediters, and kitchen staff

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards

Keep sandwich station clean, stocked, and organized throughout service

Assist with prep work before service and breakdown after service

Follow opening and closing checklists as assigned

Uphold Schneider Deli’s standards for quality, cleanliness, and teamwork

Qualifications

Prior sandwich making, deli, or line cook experience preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Strong attention to detail and consistency

Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work with kitchen equipment (slicers, grills, etc.)

Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Schedule & Availability

Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays

Shifts vary based on business needs
