Engineering Technologist - Fort Wayne, IN

Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking an Engineering Technologist to work in the Fort Wayne, IN area.

Job Summary

This position supports the planning and maintenance of smart equipment systems - from developing DACR schemes and smart equipment plans to managing day-to-day performance and ensuring continued functionality.

You will serve as the primary engineering technologist point of contact for the Fort Wayne district, working closely with the coordinator to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve smart equipment issues.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks

1. Technical Proficiency

  • Apply entry-level engineering technology skills and principles acquired through a Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering technology program.
  • Assist in performing technical functions within assigned areas under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Develop familiarity with relevant standards, codes, regulations, and business processes.

2. Leadership & Guidance

  • Follow company policies, standards, and safety procedures.
  • Perform assigned technical tasks under direction while developing independent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing information and seeking assistance when needed.

    • 3. Planning & Organization

  • Maintain detailed records and prepare technical reports related to projects, testing, and equipment performance.
  • Participate in planning meetings related to equipment operations, scheduling, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimation processes.

    • 4. Problem Solving & Initiative

  • Take initiative to expand technical knowledge and skills beyond assigned tasks.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to resolve basic to moderately complex issues.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and recommend solutions for recurring problems.

    • 5. Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal forms.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by maintaining open and respectful communication.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports or presentations as needed.

    • 6. Decision Making & Business Awareness

  • Develop understanding of the company's organizational structure, business unit roles, and financial principles.
  • Demonstrate commitment to internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Build decision-making confidence under the mentorship of higher-level staff.

    • Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program (preferred).
  • Engineering degrees will also be considered.
  • Acceptable alternatives include :

    • Non-ABET Bachelor's in Engineering Technology + Professional Engineer (PE) license, OR

  • Non-ABET Bachelor's + Master's or PhD from a university with an ABET-accredited Engineering Technology program.

    • Additional Information

  • No overnight travel required.
  • Occasional visits to the South Bend and Benton Harbor, MI offices (1 day per week or every other week).
  • Travel conducted with other team members.
