A company is looking for a Scientific Applications Programmer for Workflow Development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, modernize, and expand workflows for mission-critical weather prediction systems
Port workflows to new high-performance computing and / or cloud platforms
Conduct profiling of performance-critical model code and implement performance improvements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years of experience in meteorology / NWP, physical sciences, mathematics, or related field
Experience with data assimilation and scientific data formats (HDF5, NetCDF, GRIB / 2) is preferred
Proficiency in shell scripting, automation, version control systems (Git), and development in a Linux environment
Expertise in Python and Fortran, including advanced concepts like Object-Oriented Programming
Experience with Earth system models on high-performance computing platforms and familiarity with workflow managers is preferred
