Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Details:

MECHANICAL ENGINEER - EIT/PE - PIPE STRESS ANAYSIS - URGENT NEED!!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Pipe Stress Analysis utilizing software such as CAESAR II, NozzlePro, etc.
• Work with the project team to design a cohesive, technically acceptable, and optimized piping system.
• Perform detailed reviews of piping isometrics, piping plans, pipe specifications, P&IDs, and other design documents
• Confirm and review applicable codes and standards such as, but not limited to, the IBC, ASME, API, PIP and NFPA.
• Establish and document the mechanical systems basis of design and in doing so provide clarification, qualifications and design assumptions regarding relevant design issues.
• Develop scopes of work based on RFPs and pre-bid meetings with clients.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from ABET accredited program required.
• 5+ years industry experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain your PE within the first year of employment.
• Experience with Design/Build and EPC projects.
• Experience leading teams of engineers on design projects.
• Client projects for this position require Citizenship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Pipe stress analysis experience utilizing software such as CAESAR II.
• Significant experience designing and installing retrofits and upgrades at manufacturing, industrial, and shipbuilding facilities.
• HVAC and plumbing design for industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of ASME and ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel codes, PIP and API codes.
• Experience in managing personnel and project engineering.
