The Flower Hospital campus is a 311-bed facility that houses the Hickman Cancer Center, ER Trauma Center, and is the regional leader for inpatient adult psychiatric services.

Position Summary

The specialist completes initial and ongoing exercise assessments on patients who have had a cardiac event, such as AMI, value replacement/repair, STENT, heart failure, heart transplant, etc. They provide an individualized exercise program to cardiac rehab patients and modify the program as necessary. They assist in monitoring patients during their exercise program and educating the patients regarding life style modifications related to their heart disease. Exercise specialists complete an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) as appropriate and update documentation/exercise plan daily, monthly and as deemed necessary based on patient tolerance of exercise program. They assist in completing quality /outcomes data as requested by supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Allied Health/Science
• Six months experience in Cardiac Rehab services preferred
• Specialist certification through the American College of Sports Medicine preferred
• Must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of exercise physiology
