Job Summary
The Procurement Manager, IT leads strategic sourcing, category management, contract execution, and governance for major technology spend categories. This role enhances the client experience by driving cost savings , supplier optimization , and operational excellence across IT procurement activities. The manager influences key stakeholders, guides category strategies, and oversees contract lifecycle governance while leading teams and ensuring alignment with sourcing policies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, improve service excellence, diversify spending, and optimize total cost of ownership.Oversee end-to-end governance of the contract approval process from creation through award while managing contract spend across several categories.Lead development and execution of short- and long-term sourcing strategies .Direct complex cross-functional teams executing strategic sourcing initiatives.Manage spend analysis, needs assessments, benchmarking, and business case development.Lead the creation and execution of negotiation strategies .Monitor and maximize client satisfaction using standardized service-level agreements.Manage relationships with suppliers to support continuous improvement and mutual value delivery.Establish and enforce supplier service-level agreements to ensure accountability.Approve purchase orders and contracts in the $to $million rangeDirectly supervise Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders, and Sourcing Specialists.Required Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (1 year of experience = 1 year of college).8+ years of total sourcing or related industry experience (some roles may require technical / category specialization).Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.Strong leadership and management capabilities.Ability to identify, resolve, and implement solutions to procurement-related problems.Nice-to-Have Experience
MBA or advanced degree.Project Management experience.Utility industry experience.Experience in category management and procurement transformation.2-3 years of supervisory experience.SAP / SRM proficiency.Required Skills
