Staff Accountant

Are you ready to make an impact in a dynamic, collaborative environment? Join Evernorth as a Staff Accountant and help drive financial accuracy and operational excellence for our Specialty Pharmacy Accounting team. You'll work with talented colleagues, solve challenges, and contribute to meaningful results that support our mission and growth. This position requires strong attention to detail and is a perfect fit for a motivated self-starter to gain a wide variety of exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process accurate monthly journal entries, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze fluctuations to support sound financial decisions.
  • Provide general accounting support and partner with cross-functional teams to research and resolve issues.
  • Deliver timely and accurate analysis and reporting to inform business strategy.
  • Support audits and special projects, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, service, and accountability.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, and effective team player.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and a heavy workload.

  • Experience working with cross-functional departments.
  • Understanding of business operations and processes.
  • Demonstrated customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet project deadlines.

    • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download / 5Mbps upload.
