We’re growing our internal design capabilities and are looking for a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to build and lead the mechanical & plumbing design function in-house . This is a newly created role designed to eliminate outsourced design work and establish long-term engineering leadership within the company.

What You’ll Do
- Lead mechanical and plumbing design for commercial and industrial renovation projects
- Design HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems within existing buildings (duct routing, piping layouts, water flow redesign)
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct / piping sizing
- Stamp and seal mechanical and plumbing drawings and specifications
- Ensure compliance with IBC, IMC, IPC, IFC, IECC, and ASHRAE standards
- Support projects through construction : RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders
- Conduct site surveys and coordinate with contractors, architects, BIM / VDC teams, and inspectors
- Guide BIM coordination (clearances, slopes, access, clash resolution)
- Design domestic water, DWV, storm, and specialty piping systems
- Present designs to clients and AHJs; lead design-assist efforts
- Establish internal standards, templates, and QA / QC processes
- Mentor and help grow the internal design team
