Job Title : Community Advocate
Home Office : Vienna, IL; Anna, IL; or Cairo, IL. Location is dependent on office space availability.
Area of Focus : Community Collaboration
Program(s) : SUPS – The Substance Use Prevention Services helps students 11-18 learn about substance use and misuse through a prevention-oriented curriculum and community-wide awareness building activities that aim to reduce the prevalence of substance misuse in our communities.
Minimum Qualifications : High School Diploma or GED. Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
Immediate Supervisor : Prevention Services Coordinator
Hours of Work : Full-time, 40 hours / week. Afterhours on-call rotation required.
Special Requirements : At least 21 years of age; must complete required registry clearances and criminal fingerprint background checks; after-hours crisis response rotation; Travels to off-site / community based locations for direct service delivery; maintain CPR & First Aid Certification; maintain and provide proof of a valid driver's license and personal vehicle liability insurance.
Skills & Knowledge : Knowledge of various behavioral and human development theories and practices, knowledge of local health and human services resources; Ability to maintain and successfully complete training certification in evidence-based Youth Prevention Education curriculum as required by IDHS – Illinois Department of Human Services; basic crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques; excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent computer skills.

Salary : $34,596 - $44,012 annually (pay is dependent on education level and credentials)
