Roadside Safety Patrol

Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Traffic Safety Patrol personnelto perform motorist assistance services in the Denver, Colorado area. Responsibilities include roadside assistance support to traveling public, communicating with TMC for emergencies and/or incidents on the roadway; help mitigate delays caused by traffic incidents or obstructions on the road, increase safety of emergency responders, document all work performed with detailed time logs, etc. The primary goal of the this roadside assistance position is to ensure, as much as possible and within the project and company policies, a free flow of traffic on the road and to assist responding agencies in safely securing a scene and reopening the roadway as quickly and safely as possible to meet the contract goals and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. This position is a good fit for someone who wants to help provide safer roads for the traveling public.

Clean driving record is essential

Geographic area applicable to CDOT Local Hiring Goal consists of, but is not limited to, the following zip codes: 80010,80011, 80019, 80022, 80205, 80207, 80211, 80216, 80221, 80238, 80239, 80249, 80266.

Salary:
$22/hr, depending on licenses and experience.

Schedule:
Full time, Monday - Friday, must be able to work outside of set schedule, when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Patrol Highway and help mitigate delays caused by traffic incidents or obstructions on the road Roadside assistance for disabled motorists Help a stranded motorist change their tire Provide a gallon of gas for a motorist who ran out
• Communicate with the Traffic Management Center for emergencies and/or incidents on the roadway
• Increase safety of emergency responders by helping to provide advanced warning to drivers
• Document all work performed with detailed time logs

Preferred Experience:

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Vehicle roadside assistance
• MOT Certifications
• CPR certified

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools
