Southeast Lung Associates is a leading pulmonary and sleep medicine practice dedicated to providing exceptional respiratory health care. Our board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers work collaboratively to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team.
Position Overview
The Physician Assistant will work closely with our physicians to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of pulmonary disorders. This position includes both outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital coverage as well as participation in a rotating weekend call schedule.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform comprehensive patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and conduct physical examinations.
· Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including imaging, pulmonary function testing.
· Manage acute and chronic pulmonary conditions such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, lung infections, lung cancer.
· Provide inpatient consultations and assist with hospital rounds, admissions, and discharges.
· Collaborate with physicians to coordinate patient care.
· Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications.
· Participate in weekend and after-hours call on a rotational basis.
· Maintain accurate and timely medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
· Current and unrestricted Georgia Physician Assistant license.
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
· Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
· BLS and ACLS certification required.
· Prior experience in pulmonary or critical care medicine preferred; new graduates with a strong interest in these specialties will be considered.
· Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
Schedule & Call
· Monday?Friday outpatient clinic.
· Rotating weekend hospital call coverage is shared among the provider team.
· Inpatient responsibilities primarily focused on consultative pulmonary care.
