Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for individuals of all ages utilizing standardized assessments and observational strategies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans to target immediate objectives and support long-term communication and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individualized therapy sessions concentrating on aspects such as fluency, language skills, and voice therapy.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including PTs, OTs, nurses, and family members, to develop integrated care approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families to promote progress and skills utilization beyond therapy sessions.
  • Facilitate inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuation of care.
  • Document clinical information accurately and promptly, adhering to organizational, state, and federal regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain informed about advancements in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA is pending.
Certifications
  • Active license as a Speech Language Pathologist in Texas.
  • CCC-SLP from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needs to be obtained within the first month of employment.

  • Expertise in evidence-driven treatment practices across various age groups, with a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired disorders.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to adjust therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and their respective documentation standards.
