Responsibilities:

• Implement a research-based, play-based curriculum that fosters preliteracy skills, social emotional development, and a love of learning.
• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe and valued.
• Utilize dialogic reading techniques to engage children in meaningful conversations about books and stories.
• Incorporate phonological awareness games, letter and sound recognition activities, and writing exploration into daily routines.
• Facilitate dramatic play experiences that encourage creativity, social interaction, and language development.
• Supervise and guide children during play center activities, outdoor play, and mealtimes.
• Collaborate with therapists to support children with diverse learning needs.
• Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and family workshops.
• Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Connecticut teaching certification or CDA.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Deep understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for play-based learning and fostering a love of literacy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and therapists.
