\n ● About Facility:\n\no 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157\n\no 885 licensed beds\n\no Level 1 Trauma Designation\n\no Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center\n\no Chest Pain Center\n\no Stroke Center\n\n● Department Information:\n\no 10 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology\n\no Average patients/day? 46-50 cases\n\no Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years specific to IR/Neuro IR and at Level 1 Trauma\n\no Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes\n\n● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:\n\no Interventional Radiology – Comprehensive Stroke Center\n\no Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, blocked vessels -Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, SVC, etc.\n\n▪ Neuro: Stroke, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas, any complex Neuro cases can be seen (3 Neurosurgeons currently on staff)\n\n▪ Body: complex bleeds, several providers who have started Oncology services (Liver and other types of cancer), abscess drains and other interventions\n\n● Required License, National Certification, Certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:\n\no IR Tech: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS\n● Skills required:\n\no Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; being able to circulate/operate on the back end for the procedures (2 techs per case); being knowledgeable about equipment\n\n● Support within the Department:\n\no Tech extenders – 3 currently on staff (rotate thru dept. – transport/inventory)\n\n▪ 2 per day\n\no 2 Techs per Room\n\no 4 Neuro providers – Neuro Radiologist and 3 surgeons\n\no 5 Body Docs\n\n● Technology/Equipment:\n\no EMR: EPIC Encompass\n\no Department specific Equipment: Siemens, GE and Philips imaging systems and GE US Units \n\n● Orientation (facility and unit):\n\no Up to 2 weeks in department, based on experience and comfort level\n\n● Scheduling:\n\no Schedule cycle: every 8 weeks\n\n● Other notes:\n\no Scrub Color: hospital provided\n\no Parking: Free\n\no Department Culture: Very green with new grads – need to be comfortable with new grads and preceptorship, if needed
