We are seeking a dedicated and experienced cook to prepare and serve nutritious and appealing meals and snacks for our children. This role is crucial to the well-being and positive experience of our students, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about food, children, and creating a positive, safe, and healthy environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to established menus and recipes, ensuring they are healthy, appealing, and developmentally appropriate for preschool children.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.

Manage inventory of food supplies, order groceries, and ensure adequate stock levels.

Work collaboratively with preschool staff to ensure meals are served at appropriate times and temperatures.

Collaborate with parents to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.

Assist with meal preparation and cleanup tasks, including dishwashing and sanitizing.

Maintain accurate records of food preparation and inventory.

Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Follow established procedures for food handling, storage, and preparation.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare or school setting.

Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals in a timely and efficient manner.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A passion for working with children.

High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training or certifications a plus.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
