Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire an experienced per diem Pharmacist to provide our patients with pharmaceutical care.

ABOUT SILVER LAKE HOSPITAL

Silver Lake Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital with a reputation of providing patients with a place to heal before heading home. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in traditional general hospitals. The average length of stay in an LTACH is 25 days as compared to a 3-5 day average stay in a general hospital. Our safe and state of the art hospital is designed to admit and care for the most critically ill patients.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacist will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services provided by Silver Lake Hospital including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture. Interprets physician's orders for medications, compound and dispense prescribed drugs. Will maintain records on all medication orders filled for inpatient use and compute and record charges. Responsible for evaluating pharmacological, chemical, or physical incompatibilities in physician's orders, and communicate the evaluation to physicians. The position involves direct and indirect patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid NJ State Pharmacist License.
• Must have a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including EMR Systems, drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• A minimum of one (1) year of hospital or LTACH experience.
