Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a Tactical Radio Embedded Software Engineer for Advanced Electronics Systems responsible for designing and building uniquely resilient hardware and software to ensure mission success in contested environments.-

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain embedded software applications using C / C++ programming language
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software and hardware components
  • Perform debugging, testing, and optimization of embedded systems
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices
  • Document software design, code, and unit tests
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company processes

Required Skills

  • Must be US Citizen due to work being performed
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
  • BS degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree.
  • Agile experience is preferred
  • Exceptional experience with C and / or C++
  • Proven experience with low-level driver development
  • Experience with unit test frameworks
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Programming languages such as Rust, Python, MATLAB
  • Linux operating systems knowledge (Drivers, networking, system services, etc.)
  • Multi-threaded and multi-core programming
  • Network protocols and socket programming
  • Cryptographic techniques and secure boot is a plus
  • Automated testing and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI / CD) git pipelines is a plus
