Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine NM

Join Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, in making a meaningful difference by providing essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New Mexico. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our nation's heroes on a flexible, PRN basis while enjoying competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

In this role, you will perform interview-based assessments and physical evaluations in your own office within specified locations—Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, or Grants—requiring a 50-mile radius. The work involves conducting one-time non-treatment exams, focusing primarily on interview and physical assessment components, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. There is no prescribing or treatment involved. This position offers flexibility with half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts, ongoing assignments, and the opportunity to work at your convenience.

Required Skills:

• Current Nurse Practitioner license with experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
• Strong interview and physical assessment skills
• Ability to perform physical evaluations, including range of motion and muscle testing
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to follow procedures accurately and efficiently

Nice to Have Skills:

• Familiarity with Compensation & Pension exams or military/veteran health assessments
• Experience with medical documentation and report writing
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Valid and active Nurse Practitioner license in New Mexico or eligible for licensure
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
• Prior experience performing C&P exams or veteran health assessments is a plus

Other Requirements:

• Must have your own office within a 50-mile radius of the specified locations
• Local candidates preferred; travel is included in rates when applicable
• No travel reimbursements for certifications or portal training expenses
• Quick credentialing and onboarding process
• Ability to commit to ongoing periodic administrative follow-up

Hourly Pay Rate: $402.00
