Position: Technical Director

Reports to: Executive Pastor

Type of Position: Full-Time; Salary

Overview:

The Technical Director will advance the mission and vision of Spring Lake Church by leading the Audio/Visual (A/V) aspects of both campuses, training technical volunteers towards best practices, and supporting the A/V needs of all ministries. The Technical Director will work alongside the Lead Pastor and Worship Pastor to lead all weekend and special services with technical and spiritual excellence, including preparation, thought, and intention for each service and event.

Responsibilities:

Champion Audio/Visual for SLC’s Weekend Services and Events

• Work alongside Lead Pastor and Worship Pastor to create and implement weekend service and event plans.
• Recruit, disciple, equip, and retain a healthy tech team that includes audio, lights, ProPresenter, and broadcast.
• Choose, install, and maintain A/V equipment at all campuses to support SLC weekends and special services.
• Develop guidelines and procedures for operating A/V equipment for weekends and special services.
• Assure that the tech elements of the service, including audio, visual, and physical
  aspects, are prepared and executed according to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and correct A/V challenges to minimize service distraction and support service execution.

Mid-Week Ministries

• Work with mid-week ministries to determine proper level of A/V service to meet ministry needs.
• Assist mid-week ministries in recruiting of volunteer teams to operate A/V roles.
• Equip and retain healthy tech team who will, in turn, equip and train tech teams for mid-week ministries.

Special Events

• Develop a team capable of meeting A/V needs for special events, including ministry events, weddings, and funerals.

Requirements:

• Vibrant and healthy spiritual
• Five years’ experience in an Audio/Visual vocation or key volunteer role in a church size of at least .
• Solid team player who can play the role of servant, peer, and leader in team dynamics.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and retain volunteer
• Working knowledge and expertise in A/V systems, equipment, and best
• Ability to work on major holidays (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter).
