Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams, including but not limited to abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, and vascular studies, ensuring high-quality and accurate imaging results.
• Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adjusting settings to capture clear, diagnostic images.
• Position patients appropriately and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the exam process.
• Work alongside radiologists and healthcare teams to analyze and interpret ultrasound findings, contributing to timely diagnostic decisions.
• Document all patient information and imaging results accurately in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Educate patients about ultrasound procedures and provide clear instructions to ease any concerns they may have.
• Follow safety and regulatory guidelines, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, including HIPAA, AIUM, and facility protocols.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functioning and report technical issues when necessary.
• Commit to ongoing education and professional development, staying up to date with advancements in sonography technology and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
• Current certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S).
• State licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, if applicable.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Sonographer in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and using associated software programs.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy and ultrasound techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in a patient care environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team setting.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and occasional on-call shifts.
