Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and enhance safety and environmental programs across multiple Texas operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, TCEQ) and help drive a strong culture of safety and sustainability.

This position plays a key role in supporting audits, recordkeeping, and corrective action processes to protect employees and minimize risk exposure. Occasional travel within the region and to the company's central office in the Dallas-Fort Worth area may be required. The EHS Specialist will report directly to the Safety Manager for all safety-related initiatives and have a secondary reporting line to the local operations management team for day-to-day activities and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain EHS programs and policies in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations.
• Conduct regular jobsite audits and safety inspections, identify hazards, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Facilitate EHS training sessions for employees and contractors.
• Monitor project sites to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations as well as internal company policies.
• Maintain incident reports, JHAs, OSHA 300 logs, training records, and other safety documentation within the EHS management system.
• Track expiration dates of permits, certifications, and licenses as needed.
• Maintain SDS records, chemical inventories, and ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with the Safety Manager, site leaders, and team members to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Verify subcontractor compliance with safety plans, permits, and documentation requirements when applicable.
• Prepare and maintain regulatory reports for submission to local, state, and federal agencies as required.
• Serve as a point of contact for EHS compliance during audits or inspections.
• Stay current with applicable EHS laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Support fleet safety initiatives and monitor driving metrics to identify trends.
• Conduct safety orientation and training for new employees.
