POSITION PURPOSE:
The Program Manager serves as the operational leader responsible for driving execution, schedule performance, and delivery for key customer programs. This role bridges production control, scheduling, new product introduction, and program management — ensuring customer needs are met through effective coordination of planning, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
The Production Program Manager owns program performance across quality, on-time delivery, cost, and responsiveness, while continuously improving production efficiency, launch readiness, and communication across the business.
Core Responsibilities
- Program Planning & Execution: Develop and manage end-to-end manufacturing plans, including detailed schedules, on-time delivery, resource allocation, and budget management. Monitor and manage program performance against key metrics including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, WIP flow, and quality results.
- Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing communications, expectations, satisfaction, contract performance reporting, and new business proposals throughout the lifecycle of the program. Drive proactive communication on delivery risk, recovery plans, and production status to both internal teams and customers. Monitor program progress through KPIs and proactively identify risks, constraints, and delays.
- Production Oversight: Attend daily coordination meetings across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Production teams to resolve constraints and ensure on-time delivery. Work closely with planners and site leadership to balance capacity, prioritize builds, and resolve material or process constraints. Coordinate and lead program and production reviews to ensure alignment on schedule, quality, and improvement actions and support continuous improvement.
- Change & Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks and manage engineering or process changes through disciplined configuration control. Resolve projects’ higher scope issues and support escalation when necessary. Think quickly and adeptly about how to address problems as they arise. Ability to switch quickly between tasks and comprehend the project on many different levels at once
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field or relative years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience: Three (3) + years of Program or Project Management experience in aerospace manufacturing, with a focus on project management, production control, or operations leadership. Experience with quality terminology, RCCA methodologies, and containment plans. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Knowledge of APQP process.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Lean/Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are highly valued but not required
- Compliance: Deep understanding of industry standards like AS9100 and ITAR/EAR requirements.
- Must be a US Citizen or current US green card holder per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements
Essential Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with excellent conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, root cause corrective action (RCCA), and data-driven decision-making.
- Technical Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- This position is onsite only – No remote opportunities
