Data Engineer (Hybrid role)

Your Role and Impact: Northwind is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience, who will help build our next - generation Northwind Medallion Data Hub, manage daily data operations, and support mission critical data services across the organization. Proficient knowledge in Azure and Databricks, and experience operating a Medallion architecture data ecosystem is critical for success in this role. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance the Northwind Medallion Data Hub using Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Delta Lake, and PySpark
• Develop scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
• Participate in daily data operations management, including monitoring pipelines, ensuring on-time data delivers, and trouble shooting issues
• Collaborate with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and end users to define and deliver data solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices
• Support mission-critical initiatives including HBA/TPA build-out, claims processing, eligibility, pharmacy operations, clinical programs, and reporting/analytics
• Improve pipeline reliability, performance, and observability through logging, alerting, and automation

Skills

• 3-7+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
• Advanced knowledge working with Azure and Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake)
• Experience operating a Medallion architecture data ecosystem
• Hands-on experience managing daily data operations in a production environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring more junior team members
• Healthcare, PBM, TPA, or HIPAA regulated data experience is a plus
