Pharmacist - Fresno, California

Join a renowned pediatric hospital near Fresno, CA, as a Medication Safety / Compliance Pharmacist in a direct hire role. This position plays a critical part in overseeing medication safety and regulatory compliance within the pharmacy department, working closely with pharmacy leadership to uphold the highest standards of medication management and patient safety.

Responsibilities include continuously evaluating and improving pharmacy practices based on current evidence and data, updating policies and procedures to support best practices, and leading educational initiatives on patient safety and regulatory topics. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary hospital staff to foster positive change and act as a patient advocate. Experience with Medication Error Reporting Programs (MERP) and proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records are highly valued.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience :

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (required)
• Accredited Residency Program completion (preferred)
• Registered Pharmacist licensed by the California State Board of Pharmacy (required)
• BLS certification (to be obtained within 30 days if not current)
• Additional certifications such as Board of Pharmacy Specialties or Medication Safety Certificate from ASHP / ISMP are a plus
• At least 5 years of hospital or related pharmacy experience
• Minimum 2 years of management experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy practice laws including The Joint Commission standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and implement pharmaceutical care processes collaboratively
