American National is actively seeking a full-time, Staff Accountant to join the financial reporting team. To thrive in this position, you should have experience in accounting, enjoy highly detailed work, understand how to reconcile transactions, and familiarity with month end closing standards.
Onsite Placement Locations: League City & Houston Texas

What you will do:
Perform monthly close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and Board of Directors
Assist in preparing various reports and footnotes under basic accounting standards and Statutory Accounting
Safeguard accounting internal controls compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance
Public accounting work experience
Basic understanding of GAAP accounting standards
Ability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods (Month, Quarter, and Year-end close)
Great skills to have, but not required:
Three years’ + work experience in accounting or relevant field
Experience in Workiva, Wings, and SAP. platforms
Applicable industry designations/certifications/training
