Automotive Test Engineer - Transmissions

This role supports passenger vehicle R&D via the testing/validation of automotive transmissions.

The primary job activities are:

Develop mechanical, performance, and functional requirements for new passenger vehicle transmissions
Investigate and understand the functional requirements ( durability, regulatory, performance) for assigned systems and components
Setup test equipment, collect test results/data, verify test accuracy and completeness, analyze results, summarize findings, present reports, and coordinate with stakeholders to address issues
Develop, write, and issue related engineering specifications as required
Ensure all necessary system/component testing is completed...performing some basic mechanical testing by oneself as needed.
Responsible to ensure assigned systems and components achieve product acceptance for mass production.
Develop all necessary reports, presentations or technical documents to explain and/or make a record of the development process and activities
Support factory, sales, suppliers, etc. as required for product explanations, owner’s manual reviews, manufacturing issues, supply concerns, or market complaints
