Responsibilities
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for general direct care of the patients receiving hemodialysis under the direction of the Medical Director. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, performs duties in the care and treatment of patients on maintenance dialysis.
Performs in accordance with the established rules, regulations and standards of practice of the facility.
Abides by all Federal, State and local regulations and laws relating to the operation of an ESRD facility.
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Training Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Dialysis Technician Certification by a state certified program or a national commercially available certification program required per these guidelines: -If employed on or before October 14th, 2008, national certification must be obtained before April 15, 2010. -If employed after October 14th, 2008, certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• Current CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
• Previous dialysis experience required.
• Basic computer skills required
