Per Diem Pipefitter

Travel Pipefitter Position

Assist in the building of nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers. 3 or more years as a marine, commercial nuclear, or petro / chem Pipefitter. Ability to read and interpret ship piping drawings. Experience with carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping. Knowledge in installing pipe hangers and reading a ruler using inches and tenths. Capability to use grinders for cleaning and cutting pipes. Experience in fabricating details and assemblies from drawings. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting ship piping drawings, fitting carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping, end prep piping by hand or with a machine, installing pipe hangers accurately, reading a ruler using inches and tenths, prep and fit-up backing rings, cleaning cut / break pipe with a grinder, hand prep V bevels effectively, fabricating various details and assemblies from drawings, bending pipe from a template and using a hand bender, fitting welded sockets and brazed joints with or without inserts.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of New Orleans, LA. Pay range for this position is $29.50 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
