TITLE: Senior Field Service Engineer

Comp: $70,000-$90,000

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Senior Field Service Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Review installation requirements with customers prior to machine shipment to ensure site readiness and compliance.
• Oversee on-site installation and assembly of new machines at customer facilities.
• Inspect, adjust, start up, and demonstrate newly installed equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Train customer personnel on safe setup, operation, controls, and routine maintenance.
• Independently diagnose, repair, and service equipment on-site and remotely with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical support via phone and email when not traveling.
• Deliver warranty and non-warranty service, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer training.
• Recommend parts, accessories, and services to support safe and efficient equipment operation.
• Conduct regular customer visits to observe machine performance, identify service needs, and build key service relationships.
• Document service activities, expenses, and technical reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Escalate non-standard requirements, safety concerns, or customer dissatisfaction to management as needed.
• Travel is primarily pre-scheduled, with occasional emergency service calls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of field service experience supporting CNC machines or similar equipment.
• Strong understanding of CNC machine assembly, teardown, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to guide customers through technical issues in person or remotely.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50-75%.

TERMS: This is a direct hire position that pays from $70,000 - $90,000/yr.
