About this role

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Orthopedic Tech to work in a medical center located in Anaheim, CA.

  • This position will not assist with surgeries. This is an outpatient role only and is primarily splinting / casting / wound care.

Pay Rate : $45 / hr

Location : Anaheim, CA

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (08 : 00 - 17 : 00)

Job Duties :

  • Assists physician, NP or PA in assessment of signs, symptoms, analysis, treatment and care of the orthopedic patient.
  • Provides education, under physician, NP or PA instruction, involving the care and plan of treatment of the orthopedic patient. (i.e proper care of cast and splints).
  • Assists with application and execution of orthopedic procedures and services concerning the orthopedic patient, under physician, NP or PA direction,. Applies and removes all types of casts, splints, slings, immobilization devices and traction; Assists with reduction of fractures and dislocation. Inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment needed for orthopedic care. Assists in wound closure and removal of wound closure materials. In the event of an emergency, apply recognized first aid procedures, Assists with aspirations; Prepare injections; Position, prep and drape patients. Applies and manags post-operative dressings on wounds following aseptic techniques. Fits various orthopedic equipment such as walkers, crutches, braces and provides patient with instruction on use and care of the products.
  • Prepares patients for provider by reviewing current medications and record in medical record as needed.
  • Sets up exam room / procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs and takes appropriate vital signs and record in medical record as needed.
  • Performs designated diagnostic tests as directed by provider.

    • Requirements :

  • BLS, Registered Ortho Tech
  • 2+ in an outpatient setting with STRONG ortho specialty experience
  • Splinting / Casting / Wound care experience
  • BLS (AHA or ARC Only), Ortho Tech Cert Preferred
  • Flu Vaccination (no declination / no exemptions)
