Join us as we reinvent work so people everywhere can do their best work.
About The Role
The Device Experience team is building intelligent, desktop-native applications that redefine how people engage with their PCs. These aren't traditional applications—they're responsive, local-first experiences that seamlessly surface AI-powered insights, actions, and context, right when and where users need them.
You'll help craft the interface between human intent and machine intelligence—engineering native software that's deeply integrated with Windows and optimised for performance. This work is core to how HP IQ brings the future of work to life : fluid, adaptive, and powered by intelligence that runs directly on the device.
We're looking for an engineer who's excited to shape modern, intuitive experiences and help define how users across HP's global footprint interact with intelligent systems every day. You'll lead by example, drive application architecture, and help shape a flagship product from the ground up.
What You Might Do
Design and build native Windows applications that are performant, responsive, and polished.
Develop on-device experiences that adapt in real time to user behaviour and context.
Integrate with AI orchestration and system software layers to surface context-aware features in a privacy-first manner.
Partner with cloud, platform, and AI teams to enable secure, low-latency backend communication.
Collaborate closely with design to prototype and iterate on novel interaction models and UX flows.
Contribute to cross-platform features that may span Windows, mobile, and future devices.
Participate in architectural decisions and technical planning for Windows application development.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience developing native desktop applications, ideally for Windows.
Proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
Hands-on experience with modern Windows UI frameworks (e.g., WPF, WinUI).
Familiarity with MVVM architecture and scalable UI design patterns.
Strong grasp of asynchronous, event-driven programming for responsive UIs.
Experience using Visual Studio, Git, and profiling / debugging tools.
Collaborative, user-focused, and detail-oriented engineering mindset.
Preferred Skills
Experience shipping production software for desktop or mobile platforms.
Familiarity with cross-platform coordination or multi-device design patterns.
Comfort working across design, product, and engineering stakeholders.
Interest in HCI, AI-enhanced interfaces, or building context-aware user experiences.
Adaptability and curiosity for evolving platforms and new tools.
