The Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified candidates for PT Early Risers Site Coordinator and Substitutes. The Early Risers Site Coordinator oversees the site at which they are located and relevant personnel, plans and implements daily activities and lesson plans, maintenance of program equipment, child supervision, and positive interaction with staff, children, and parents, and end of day clean up.
Successful candidate must have:
- Knowledge of relevant early childhood education practices and regulations related to essential functions.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflict. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain good public relations and to respond in a courteous and professional manner with an emphasis on children, parents, caretakers, and legal guardians. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills and customer service skills.
Candidate must be at least 20 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, be First Aid and CPR certified, and meet at least ONE of the following criteria:
- 12 months of supervised work experience or 1 practicum.
- 9 months supervised work or 1 practicum with a degree in any field.
- 6 months of supervised work or 1 practicum with bachelor’s in early childhood education (ECE).
- 6 months supervised work as a group leader, associate degree or higher in ECE, and completed 3 credits or 45 professional development hours in 6 months.
