Salary Range : $80,000-$114,400 DOE

We are seeking an experienced

Fixed Asset Accountant - Consultant

to provide project-based support for an organization needing immediate assistance with fixed assets, depreciation schedules, internal audit preparation, and budget-related work. This role requires someone who can step in quickly, work independently, and handle complex accounting tasks with accuracy and minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

As the

Fixed Asset Accountant - Consultant , you will :

Compile a complete list of fixed assets, including taking photos, gathering documentation, and updating the fixed asset database.

Coordinate with internal departments to confirm and document asset information.

Prepare, review, and update depreciation schedules for internal audit, ensuring alignment and recalculating schedules as needed.

Support a budget project by assisting with the calculation of the organization's beginning fund balance due in May.

Organize and maintain documentation for audit support, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Use advanced Excel functions-such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP-to analyze and reconcile financial data.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Strong experience in fixed asset accounting with the ability to jump in with little to no training.

Required experience in governmental fund accounting.

Hands-on experience with depreciation schedules, fixed asset tracking, and audit preparation.

Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.

Ability to collaborate with internal departments and manage tasks independently.
