Description :

The management of all full / part-time faculty and clinical coordinator within the AASN program at Beckfield College in Florence, Kentucky. Provide academic advice and support to students throughout their academic journey. The Program Director ensures the integrity of curriculum, classroom materials / equipment and supervises classroom management. The Program Director ensures campus compliance with specific accreditation and licensing requirements. The Program Director’s responsibilities further include retention of current students and the exploration of potential new programs of study to ensure the future growth of the campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide effective and progressive leadership for program / s assigned.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire new faculty members as needed with the cooperation of the Dean of Nursing and HR Director.
  • Train, observe, and coach new faculty members.
  • Review performance and manage faculty and clinical coordinator’s hours, assignments and adherence to college policies.
  • Recommend revisions to curriculum and new courses for development. Monitor trends in the job market for potential program development.
  • Coordinate advisory board membership and meetings with industry professionals, faculty members, and Career Services to ensure the school is meeting the industry’s needs and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate faculty meetings, professional development and in-service training sessions for program faculty and clinical coordinator. Attend all-staff / faculty meetings as required.
  • Participate in orientation, graduation, and other major academic and school events.
  • Work with the Dean of Nursing; staff, and other faculty members to :

Adhere to departmental budget requirements.

  • Meet / exceed the overall retention goal.
  • Speak with potential students, and promote the program at scheduled open houses, etc.
  • Ensure that the total contact hours required for courses are taught / delivered.
  • Implement and adhere to all school policies and regulations.
  • Provide tutoring and informal advising to students as needed.
  • Maintain scheduled office hours to coincide with student population needs
  • Meet with the instructors and clinical coordinator on a frequent basis.
  • Develop outside relationships with area professionals / businesses.
  • Maintain a personal teaching schedule (8 credits per term, up to 20 lecture / lab / clinical hours per week); focus being on teaching courses at the beginning of the program / s, to build student relationships.
  • Ensure that the program is in compliance with the academic policies and standards of Beckfield College, the institutional accreditor, the programmatic accreditor, and the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
  • Develop, implement, and administer goals and processes that facilitate and assess continuous improvement to include the creation of accreditation materials (e.g., self-study, annual report) and coordination of programmatic accreditation site visits.
  • Work in conjunction with respective faculty to ensure compliance with accrediting and other regulatory criteria / standards as it relates to course and program offerings.
  • Ensures all programs, curriculum and faculty are accurate within institutional catalog / catalog addendum errata, website and other published materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • QUALIFICATIONS :

    SKILLS / ABILITIES : Management and leadership skills; organizational and research skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and online / hybrid education experience.

    EXPERIENCE :

  • Possesses a minimum of three years nursing experience within the immediate past five (5) years; experience in administration, preferably educational administration.
  • Minimum of two (2) years full-time teaching experience at or above the academic level of the program of nursing; and
  • Demonstrates academic and experiential background in the field of nursing at the level of the program.

    • EDUCATION : Holds, master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing and specializing in nursing education is preferred. Current, active, unencumbered Kentucky RN license or compact state.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interaction via face-to-face, text, email, and other forms of communication.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills required.
  • Comfortable with teamwork and a high degree of accountability.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of learning principles.
  • Effective time management skills and goal oriented.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office products.
