Responsibilities You Will Undertake
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, prescribe appropriate diagnostic tests, and create personalized treatment plans
  • Identify and manage acute and chronic health issues, collaborating with physicians or independently based on your credentials
  • Instruct patients and their families on wellness, disease prevention, and health maintenance
  • Prescribe required medications and treatments within your legal remit
  • Engage in patient follow-up and chronic disease management initiatives
  • Work hand-in-hand with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, holistic care
  • Accurately document all encounters within electronic medical records (EMR)
Qualifications Required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program
Mandatory Certifications
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Louisiana
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to complete these within 90 days)
