Position Summary Bristol Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor, Network Engineering and Infrastructure to oversee the design, operation, and support of the hospital's core network, systems, and communication platforms.
This position combines hands-on Cisco network engineering with leadership and supervision of multiple technical disciplines, including Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Access Management, and VoIP.
The ideal candidate will possess deep Cisco expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure the performance, security, and reliability of Bristol Hospital's IT infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Network Engineering & Operations - Design, configure, and maintain Cisco routing and switching infrastructure (core, distribution, and access layers).
- Manage and optimize Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi to ensure enterprise-grade performance, coverage, and security.
- Administer and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), including voicemail, call routing, and contact center functionality.
- Oversee core data center network operations, ensuring redundancy, segmentation, and high availability.
- Implement and manage network monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization tools.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network, VoIP, and infrastructure issues.
- Ensure all network configurations adhere to HIPAA, NIST, and internal security standards.
Leadership & Supervision - Supervise and mentor the Systems Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineer, Access Management Administrator, and VoIP Technician.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, performance evaluations, and team development sessions.
- Provide direction for daily operations, workload management, and project prioritization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the infrastructure team.
- Partner with IT leadership on capacity planning, budgeting, and technology roadmaps.
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Qualifications - Minimum five (5) years of hands-on Cisco networking experience in an enterprise or healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Cisco routing and switching, Cisco Meraki wireless, and CUCM administration.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, and general IT infrastructure operations.
- Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management principles.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in IT operations or infrastructure management.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX) or similar contact center solutions.
- Understanding of firewall management, VPN technologies, and network segmentation.
- Experience in healthcare IT, including HIPAA compliance and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Familiarity with infrastructure modernization, cloud integrations, and emerging technologies.
