Job Description :
The Aircraft Maintenance position plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational safety and efficiency of aircraft. This position involves extensive hands-on work in inspecting maintaining and repairing aircraft to ensure compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.
Essential Functions :
- Performs maintenance disassembly rework repair replacement re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft components in accordance with technical specifications engineering instructions and FAA regulations.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify any wear tear or damage and carry out necessary repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.
- Adhere to maintenance manuals technical specifications and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs and records.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and provide feedback on aircraft performance and any issues encountered.
- Ensure that all tools materials and equipment are calibrated correctly and maintained in good working condition.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and practices.
- Performs flightline operations aircraft inspections or repairs sometimes in confined spaces and inclement weather.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals schematics and engineering documentation.
- Ability to obtain certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts scissor lifts boom lifts aircraft support equipment and towing vehicles.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and on-call shifts.
- Ability to climb including ladders stairs and portable stands and navigate these with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift and / or move objects up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Qualifications :
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary / Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.Minimum 4 years experience in aircraft maintenance preferably with a focus on complex mechanical and avionics systems.Ability to pass a flightline physical.Must be a US citizen.Preferred Additional Skills :
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred.Experience with a variety aircraft models that the company operates such as OA-1K C-130 P-8A G550 etc.Advanced troubleshooting skills with a focus on avionics and electrical systems.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.Excellent communication skills to liaise with engineers customers and other maintenance staff.#LI-AS1
