Student Assistant (Marketing-Graphic Design)

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Manager or Supervisor, this role supports the daily operations of the sponsoring business unit / department by performing a variety of administrative, operational and project-based tasks. This position allows college students to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience in a professional business environment, develop workplace skills and prepare them for future professional roles.

*Candidates must be a currently enrolled college student AND reside on the island of Oahu to be considered for this position.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

To support creative marketing team

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience designing creative assets for web, social media, email, and print.
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to brainstorm and contribute original ideas for campaigns or visual storytelling.
• Experience with motion graphics or video editing tools such as After Effects, Adobe Express, or Premiere is a plus.
• Portfolio of creative work
• Other duties as assigned

To support the Brand & Integrated Marketing team

• Helps develop and execute integrated marketing programs to support various lines of business
• Performs project management duties
• Coordinates various campaign and sales programs to support frontline and digital channels
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Marketing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support including data entry, document preparation, and scheduling.
• Maintains and organizes digital and/or physical filing systems.
• Assist with event planning, logistics, and coordination for corporate functions.
• Conducts research and compile information for departmental reports or special projects.
• Operates standard office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners).
• Greet and assist clients, answer questions and provide information.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special assignments.
• Upholds confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks.
• May provide temporary coverage during staff absences, performing tasks that may differ from regular duties.
• Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled as a student in good standing in a two- or four-year degree program at an accredited college or university in Hawaii.
• One year of part-time work or volunteer experience, internship, or academic experience such as: school / student activities or leadership roles, tutoring / mentoring.
• Proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks and time effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Friendly, professional demeanor, dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
• Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
