Assess patient's physical and emotional conditions, medical history, health habits, and practices. Monitor patient progress and update patient records. Administer treatment prescribed by physicians. Educate patients on treatment and preventing recurrence.
RN Oncology Shift/Schedule - Full Time Nights 3/12 hr. shifts 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Requirements- Min. of 1 yr. Oncology Our Oncology unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Patient Population: Majority of our patients are of medical, and we have a mixture of medical and surgical oncology patients and occasionally administer IV chemotherapy. Patient Ratios: 1:5 Number of Beds: 24 Department Specifics: We are Commission on Cancer recognized hospital and a Sammons Cancer Center, which means that we provide a variety of care for patients that include the availability of Nurse Navigators, Child Life Specialists as well as a fully staffed Supportive and Palliative Care Team. In addition, we strive to get all our nurses' chemotherapy certified within the first 6 months of being an employee. Qualifications Grad of an Accredited Program Specialized field of study should be nursing. A current and valid nursing license. Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
