[job_card.job_description]The Cancer Center RN provides patient-centered care in the Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital including chemotherapy administration, patient education, care planning, symptom management, and coordination of outpatient services. Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care addressing complex care issues of Cancer Center patients and their caregivers. Practices according to ANA and ONS standards of care. Reports to the Clinical Nursing Manager, Cancer Center and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required; BSN preferred. For candidates without a BSN, 1 to 2 years of experience in ambulatory oncology required. Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. Oncology Nurse certification (OCN) required after 2 years of hire or after reaching 2,000 hours of oncology nursing practice. Current American Heart Association BLS certification required. Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to practice independently and as a team member required. Knowledge of basic computer skills required. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and family members required. MGB Badge Photo required for onboarding : color photo taken in past 6 months with plain background, no selfies or filters. License / Certificate Verification required within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Fit Test (N95) required within 365 days to start date and updated annually; no onsite fit testing available at most locations. Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity required. Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions. TB test documentation required within 3 months of start date and updated if > Health Statement signed by MD / DO / NP / PA required within 365 days of start date and updated if > MGB Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start date and updated if > MGB Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date and updated if > MGB Resume including past 7 years of work experience required for submission. MGB Skills Checklist required for submission. MGB Confirmation of Assignment / POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions. Additional health and professional verifications and clearances required as per MGB policies.
