[job_card.job_description]Position is in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department within an acute care hospital Handles a diverse patient population, including all ages from newborns to the elderly with a wide variety of complaints, from minor to critically ill, including cardiac arrests, strokes, and heart attacks Unit has 65 private beds and 2 trauma bays with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 3-5 depending on acuity and department need Common procedures include administration and titration of vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips Uses Epic for charting; orientation provided Night shifts are 12 hours (7p-7a), with a rotation requirement for every other weekend and some holiday coverage as needed Floating is rare and, if required, is as a 'help all' with no patient team assignment No on-call requirement for travelers Responsibilities include caring for a wide range of emergency and trauma cases after primary trauma resuscitation Support provided by two charge nurses per shift, dedicated ED techs, and 24 / 7 house supervisor Mandatory 12-hour orientation is provided before assuming full responsibilities Travelers may request block scheduling or specific days off, subject to departmental approval No specific scrub color required; solid colored shirts under tasteful scrubs are appropriate COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position Local candidates accepted, with a local rate applying to those within 50 miles Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent ED experience required Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS are mandatory Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and using Phillips monitors is expected Experience titrating multiple IV drips including vasopressors is necessary Prior travel assignment and working in a teaching hospital strongly preferred Must pass a comprehensive drug screen High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
