Financial Analyst Position
We are looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This is a fully remote position slated to last at least six months or longer. This role involves driving finance transformation initiatives due to a merger/acquisition, optimizing processes, and ensuring operational excellence across revenue and royalty functions. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to scalability, efficiency, and governance improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to standardize and normalize cash report formats across multiple distribution partners and platforms.
- Document current workflows and implement streamlined processes to enhance efficiency and eliminate redundancies.
- Support system migration projects by conducting data mapping, testing, and reconciliation between legacy and new systems.
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures and training materials.
- Identify areas for improvement within cash reporting and royalty expense functions and implement solutions to increase scalability and productivity.
- Assist in establishing governance frameworks, including controls and approval workflows for contract entries and royalty calculations.
- Analyze customer revenue reports, allocate transactional data to internal systems, and resolve discrepancies in reporting.
- Prepare and compile transactional data for royalty statements, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and payment structures.
- Produce accurate royalty statements and respond to ad hoc audit requests with necessary documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, royalty processing, or financial analysis.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including handling large datasets and performing complex data analysis.
- Familiarity with rights management systems and data integration tools, along with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive mindset for process improvement, including documenting workflows and identifying optimization opportunities.
