Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellbeing, connection and belonging, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

The Ted Moore ’71 Director of Cornell Sailing organize and direct all activities related to the operation of the intercollegiate Women’s Sailing program and the men’s club sailing team. This work includes coaching, recruiting, scheduling, budget management, and overall administration of a Division I Sailing program in accordance with NCAA, Ivy League, and University rules and procedures, as well as serving as the advisor and head coach for the men’s club program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA, Ivy, and ICSA rules and regulations
  • Experience with ICSA events at all levels.
  • Proficiency with computers and office software; familiarity with ARMS software, video editing software, and other athletic-specific technology skills preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated success in cultivating relationships with alumni and other program supporters is strongly desirable
  • This position will require driving; therefore, a clean and valid driver’s license must be held at time of employment and maintained thereafter
  • Demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences
  • Proven experience connecting inclusion, belonging and wellbeing practices to business goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred, specifically in NCAA Division I
