Buyer - Aerospace

Job Summary

The Buyer coordinates and executes purchase orders under general supervision. Activities include negotiating, issuance and maintenance of purchase orders with approved suppliers for established materials, parts or services in accordance with production schedule. Responsible for expediting and problem resolution as required as it relates to execution and support of materials on order.

Essential Functions

• Negotiates and procures materials, supplies and equipment based on requirements.
• Locates new sources of supply when necessary to achieve optimal cost, delivery, and quality, to align with corporate goals.
• Generates Supplier Activation, Reactivation or Inactive form and submits to Quality for production items.
• Maintains purchase orders and other required documents to ensure compliance.
• May set up outside services for parts manufactured internally including processes and finishes.
• Works with Suppliers, Receiving and Accounting to resolve Invoice issues.
• Works with Suppliers to remedy rejections and to ensure corrective actions are established.
• Other departmental duties as required.

Qualifications/Minimum requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or relevant vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' Buyer experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Manufacturing setting preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP systems preferred.
• Preferred background in dealing with aerospace requirements (industry experience).
• U.S. Citizenship Required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English proficiently.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.

Salary Range: $66k to $90k per year. This estimated range represents a good faith projection of what we believe is a competitive compensation range for this position. Please understand that the offered salary will be determined based on factors such as the applicant's credentials, experiences, and the specific requirements of the role, as well as potential internal equity and external market considerations.
