Registered Nurse (RN) - Mental Health Hospital

Are you a Registered Nurse with psychiatric experience looking for a meaningful contract opportunity? I’m a recruiter partnering with a state-run inpatient mental health hospital in Denver to help find compassionate nurses for 13-week contract assignments. This is an incredible opportunity to work with a collaborative clinical team supporting adults with serious and persistent mental illness while making a real impact in the community.

Position Details

• 13-week full-time contracts

• Multiple shifts available: HAVE TO BE FLEXIBLE to work with the needs of the hospital at the time (days and nights)

• May be 36 hours/week OR rotating 36/48 hours/week

• Location: Denver, CO

• Opportunity to extend

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients with psychiatric and medical conditions

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans

• Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams

• Assist with crisis intervention and therapeutic interventions

• Support patients through counseling, psychoeducation groups, and skill-building activities

• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient updates to care teams

Orientation:

• First 2 weeks: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• $40/hr (non-patient facing)
• After orientation, you’ll receive your schedule (days or nights)

Process:

• Takes minimum of 1 month to get through the background and requirements

Additional Information

• This is a secure inpatient psychiatric setting serving adult patients

• Nurses may assist with therapeutic activities and occasionally escort patients to appointments or activities

• Must be flexible with scheduling, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays if needed

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado or compact state)

• At least 2 years of nursing experience

• HAVE to have a flexible schedule

• 1 year of adult psych experience

• Ability to pass full background screening and onboarding requirements

• Must have all required immunizations
