Packaging Engineer

We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to join our team on a contract basis to support and lead packaging initiatives across multiple projects. This role requires a highly self-motivated professional who is comfortable working remotely while independently driving projects and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on packaging engineering experience, strong project leadership skills, and the ability to manage initiatives with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage packaging engineering projects from concept through execution

• Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain

• Drive packaging development, optimization, and troubleshooting efforts

• Ensure packaging solutions meet functionality, quality, cost, and timeline requirements

• Independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a remote environment

• Prepare documentation, specifications, and project updates as needed

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging processes and materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• Approximately 3+ years of packaging engineering experience

• Strong ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

• Proven experience leading projects with limited direct supervision

• Excellent communication skills, especially in a remote work setting

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

• Food or CPG packaging experience is a plus, but not required

Preferred Location

• Mexico City (near the company's Tech Center) or

• El Paso, TX

• (Remote work is required regardless of location due to distributed teams)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
