Accounts Payable Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational & Transactional Perform full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice entry, matching, verification, and issue resolution. Prepare, review, and process weekly check runs and ACH payments in accordance with established approval workflows. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies through coordination with vendors and internal departments. Maintain accurate and complete accounts payable records and supporting documentation. Maintain vendor master data, ensuring required documentation and approvals are obtained and retained. Review employee expense reports for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper supporting documentation. Monitor accounts payable aging reports and escalate exceptions or risks to management. Supervisory & Oversight Supervise, train, and support accounts payable staff to ensure consistent performance, accuracy, and adherence to procedures. Assign and prioritize daily workloads to ensure timely processing and coverage. Review work performed by AP staff for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls. Serve as a point of escalation for AP-related questions and issues prior to management involvement. Controls, Close & Systems Ensure adherence to internal controls, segregation of duties, and audit requirements within the AP function. Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting support. Develop, document, and maintain accounts payable procedures in alignment with company policies. Partner with banking technical support teams to resolve EDI and ERP-to-bank connectivity issues. Support system-related initiatives, including the planned transition from QuickBooks to SAP, through testing, documentation, and user support. Other Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and explanations. Participate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as directed by management. Scope & Authority This role does not establish accounting policy, approve vendor contracts, or control departmental budgets. Payment approvals, exception handling beyond defined thresholds, and policy changes are escalated to management. The role performs transactional work alongside supervisory responsibilities. Final decision-making authority resides with the Plant Controller. The base salary range for this position is $75,900 to $98,900 with the potential for up to an additional 25% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
